I am concerned with some reports that Expedia made a reservation but didn't forward it to a hotel, or that a hotel was overbooked but Expedia made the reservation anyway and then had nowhere to put the guest elsewhere either - but again our experience has been very good with them so far.
Even factoring in taxes/surcharges that will be payable at the hotel and not included in Expedia's price, it is still way less because the AMBR rates also do not include the 19% tax (if I read the site correctly). Has anyone had experience with booking hotels in Aruba via Expedia, specifically Amsterdam Manor - we would much prefer to book directly with the hotel but their rack rate (on website) is almost $100 more per night for the eight nights of our stay. Tim and I have booked many times with Expedia and never had a problem, but not recently, and never to Aruba.
